THE TERRACES - The Terraces (*A Review*)

The Terraces self titled debut album takes Street Punk down the Rock'n'Roll highway and hits yer full on like a collision between Cock Sparrer, The Gaslight Anthem, The Clash and a bike driven by Gary Holton; It knocks you off yer feet! Ten tracks with a polished ballsy production which still leaves them sounding rawkus and raw. Ten tunes that are straight to the point and straight from the heart; songs of testament and unity, big loud anthems, songs to be sung on the terraces and played in the stadiums.  Buy this album and let yer neighbours hear it!

VIVE LE ROCK - Back In The Night (A Compilation)

It's been a while since I've posted any music, so here's a little something that's got a bit of everything for everyone who's a lover of all things Rock'n'Roll, Punk, New Wave and Beyond!
WILKO JOHNSON kicks the proceedings off with a reworking of the song he wrote for Dr Feelgood, Sneakin' Suspicion. KILLING JOKE show that they are still a force to be reckoned with, Corporate Effect takes the roof off. THE CHEATS turn in a cover of Demolition 23's (Mike Monroe from Hanoi Rocks band) Hammersmith Palais. THE DRESDENS Out On The Streets, is just that; a slice of Rock'n'Roll from the streets. RT-ZED were formed by Steve Gantley (SLF and The Alarm) as a vehicle for his rock out anthems like You Are Free. Celtic Folk Punkers SIR REG turn in the frantic violin drenched 'Til The Dead Come Alive. Veterans from the Californian Punk scene the SWINGIN' UTTERS have matured and evolved, as the semi-acoustic track Stuck In A Circle testifies. V8 WANKERS burn up the Rock'n'Roll highway with Road Hog. Hot on their heels are CIRCUIT 68 whose Perno Inferno channels 60's Psychedelia into something very 21st Century. Hungarian Punkabilies THE SILVER SHINE leave the listener In The Middle Of Nowhere with their foot tapping. Rock'n'Roll. Los Angeles garage punks JJ&THE REAL JERKS keep the motor running on their Economy Class Ego Trip. New comers to the block BRAXTON HICKS provide a jaunty and jumpy little poppy and punky number called Never Kill Yourself. The brilliantly named THE MEN THAT WILL NOT BE BLAMED FOR NOTHING serve up Victoria's Secret a chunk of something they call 'Steam Punk' Bored To Death by MONGREL rawks out with righteous rage, as does South Karia Night by Finland’s REJECTED. Well.... there you have it....15 assorted tracks that smash their way into yer skull and crash round yer head. Another top notch freebie from Vive Le Rock, posted here with scant regard for copy write laws. Enjoy!

Lets hear it for the little guy....

Bradley Manning, a man that has stood up to the might of the US Government and told the truth, about their lies and deception in the war on terror.

A man whose freedom will be taken away, by a government who claim to be fighting to protect freedom with an illegal war sold to the people through patriotic propaganda.

But he betrayed his country!....No he didn't, his country betrayed him, the dead and maimed soldiers and its people who are having to pay the cost for their countries actions.

Bradley Manning knew what the cost of his actions would be and was willing to sacrifice his liberty for his beliefs, and to get the truth out there.

A brave soldier whose only weapon was the sword of truth. In a world of cowards Bradley Manning is a real war hero.

CHARLIE HARPER and CAPTAIN SENSIBLE - Too Much Reality EP (*A Review*)

Punk Rock turns a complete circle with this mind fuck of an EP. Influenced by the pre-punk late 60's early 70's underground sounds of their youth Charlie Harper and fellow punk stalwart Captain Sensible have teamed up and produced a gem which sparkles and shines brighter than the turds in the Rock'n'Roll cesspit.
Opening track Too Much Reality sounds like a stormy and angry Hawkwind looking over a waste land full of everything but offering nothing. Space Virgins floats above the destruction, looking down like a political Pink Floyd, before  Human Traffic starts to throb and speed away across the border like 21st Century Deviants on a Triumph motorbike. The closing track Kamara, well imagine if Syd Barrett had produced The Damneds Music for Pleasure instead of Nick Mason.
This EP is a mind blowing Punkadelic spaced out spiked up trip. A seventeen minute assault on the senses that really does take you to a place deep in space. Available on CD and as a limited edition 7” vinyl (only 250 numbered copies ) from Time and Matter Recordings. Ignore at your peril!

WRONGA!

Pennies from heaven. Church in cash crisis. The Archbishop of Cunterbury stands in judgement over payday loan companies such as Wonga praying on the vulnerable in society, only to end up with not just egg on his face but the full English breakfast, when a day later it comes to light that the Church Of England has investments in not just Wonga, but in global multi nationals including Shell and Glaxo. Both of whom play at being god by destroying the planet and prolonging life. But it's all about the money and should the CoE be about making its parishioners enough money to buy their way into heaven? Religion another institution that is morally bankrupt. Priests, Politicians and Princes....UP AGAINST THE WALL MUTHA FUCKERS!

Breaking News

Bury the bad news under blanket news coverage....A royal parasite baby has been born. Well congratufuckinglations, that's another mouth for the taxpayer to feed. The whole country will celebrate says the Prime Minister, well I've got news; not all of us Dave. I've heard others comment that it will be good for the economy, yeah....another royal mugshot on a mug for the mugs to buy!

Creeping censorship under the disguise of protecting children from porn and paedophiles on the internet. Emotive issues for parents, who ask no questions. The government doesn't want or like a 'nanny state' yet it is pushing internet service providers to regulate what people can view on their computers. Who is responsible for bringing up children? The parents or Google? Never mind parental controls, it looks like the parents have lost control!

THE DEVIANTS - Fury Of The Mob. (New Single)

The Deviants bring forth the barricades and loot the supermarket again with this Blues/Punk guitar drone spoken word rant, that throbs with passion and power. Good time music for people living in bad times.

“The fury of the mob. The fury of the mob The choice is very simple....to burn it or to rob”

Out now....89p from Amazon....It's just a click away!

WALK LIKE AN EGYPTIAN.

It's gonna take more than a bit of warm weather and a Brit winning at Wimbledon to lift my mood Mr Cameron. Yeah the weathers great, but fuck me some people aint happy; first it was too cold and wet for them, and now I hear people saying it's too hot. Yeah it's great that a Britain won Wimbledon, I can hear the cash tills at UKplc ringing, or I would if everyone didn't use plastic these days; you can't hear a credit card swipe. One thing I have heard is petty nationalism with people going on about Andy Murray being Scottish and not British, who gives a shit, it's only a game!

Tourists holiday in Turkey and Egypt. As they sit around the pool in their safe all inclusive Westernised hotel complex things are getting hot out on the streets. The natives are voicing their feelings and frustrations against their governments. Protesters have been injured and killed in the name of democracy. Having a lovely time, wish you where here.

It's been a couple of years since the West looked on and supported the 'Arab Spring' when countries like Egypt demanded free and democratic elections. It's been a year since Egypt held these 'free and fair' elections. In recent weeks the democratically elected leader has been accused by sections of Egyptian society of turning the country into an Islamist state, after days of protests on the streets of Cairo, the army took control, and ousted him and appointed an interim Prime Minister. Now the Islamists have taken to the streets in protest and The Army has turned it's guns on them. The West looks on and says nothing, Western leaders no doubt support this action as well, because they don't want an Islamist state playing in the game of global politics, especially one in such a key geopolitical area of the world. That's the problem with bringing a one size fits all democracy to town, it doesn't fit everyone. It's all just hypocrisy. I bet David Cameron and his chums are glad that we don't have a different size of democracy in Britain. He'd have been up against the wall or swinging from a lamp post months ago.... now that would have lifted my mood.

WATCHING THE DETECTIVES

“Move along please, there's nothing to see here'” You'd think so.... as soon as the spying scandal hits the news, it disappears, even after the revelations that London’s Met Police spied on the family of Stephen Lawrence, in an attempt to dig dirt to smear them in order to discredit their campaign for justice for the racist murder of their son. Lets not forget that the police stole the identities of dead babies for undercover officers to use when they infiltrated activist groups.
The only defence I've heard from the police about in regard to the Lawrence family has been that times where different and that they don't do that sort of thing any more. Yeah right, if people believe that shit, they'd believe anything. Lets not forget that the state failed the Lawrence family in it's original investigation of his murder. Why would the state and its servants the police stop their surveillance of people and groups that threaten the status quo,

Go back a little further in Britain’s history and look at Northern Ireland the secret services were not just involved in gathering intelligence for the government, but they where active in helping maintain sectarian divisions.  It has been reported that many IRA members were actively working for the British intelligence services. Just remember that as they try and make us forget the connection between MI5 or was it MI6 and one of the people who carried out the recent terrorist attack in Woolwich. they had approached him to work for them.

The government are quite comfortable with the idea of state surveillance on people, how else can they justify a 3.4% increase in funding for the intelligence agencies. In a time when Welfare budgets are being cut, it's good to see they've got their priorities right....watch the people struggle to survive, keeping calm and carrying on.

Using terrorism as a smokescreen to blind the people that a surveillance society is for their protection and welfare, when really it's for the protection for powers that we let be from the enemy within, one that is growing stronger. Just think, without the recent 'terrorist murder' of Soldier Lee Rigby, would people have been so accepting of the thought of more surveillance? Sometimes things happen for a reason, or are made to happen for a reason. Like I said; they did it in Northern Ireland so who's to say they haven't been doing the same in their long war on terror. There's lots to see, it's they just don't want us to see it.
