I went shopping yesterday. Nothing major just a basket full of bollocks from the Co-op. The cashier was putting stuff through the till and I went to pack my bits and pieces and there were no carrier bags. I asked "have you got any carrier bags mate" the reply was "yes, but we are not encouraging people to use them"

I'm not saying I got angry or anything but my next simple question was "how many fucking hands have you got then because I've only got the two" The growing queue behind me were laughing and the assistant anti-carrier-bag nazi backed down and gave me 2 carrier bags. "Please try and re-use them" he said. I said "I do mate,I use them for bin-liners"

Whatever happened to common sense?

Had the same problem a while back. Cashier/plasitc bag fascist was reluctant to let me have three plastic bags. I told her that my journey home involved two busses and a 500 yard walk so how else was I going to get my groceries, a bag of Huggies, and a 5Kg bag of cat litter home!!

Sorry but I think there's a hell of a lot more to get angry about than the carrier bag situation. That's the small sh*t they want you to worry about whilst your future and your kids future is being mortgaged just so Labour can stay in power for another 5 minutes.

Bring your own bags!

Oh yes! I'm with you all on this "Do you want a carrier bag?" No, I'm gonna carry it home on my fucking head, of course I want a carrier bag. The small shit is one and the same as the big shit, a symptom/result of Labour and their time in power, and if people don't get angry about the small shit, then what hope is there that they're gonna get angry and do anything about the big shit. Thanks for yer comments.

Bring my own bags? Why should I? If it’s an environmental argument then I do more than my fair share by not driving and not flying. My response to bring your own bags would be bring your own transport. I.e get the bus or walk. No self regarding arguments like oh, I can’t spare the time because I lead such a busy life. Make time. Not only would you do your bit for global warming and future generations, but you would keep yourself fit and lessen the chances of becoming a burden on the NHS/taxpayer in later years because you need an expensive knee replacement due to sitting in your car for most of your life. The fact that supermarkets ration bags whilst they sell their good in large non degradable packaging and their shareholders take a huge profit suggests they haven’t understood the issue. But then you wouldn’t expect them to I suppose. Like most people they lack the ability to see the broader picture (Especially if it means adjusting their own behaviour) and think outside the box……or packaging.

Never mind the carrier bags, what about 100 watt light bulbs? Why can't I buy one anymore? They want me to have the new energy-saving-migraine-inducing-can't see sod all bulbs now. Theres still the 60 watt can't-see sod all ones available but whats the point of that when your as blind as a bat?

I'll just start a fire in my living room instead and save on heating bills while I'm at it shall I?

I thought it was just me Longy,it's like being back in the dark ages squinting at everything in our caves, I've got a theory about all this global warming/climate change/recycling and everything, in two words A CON it's another man made market, I'm not talking just about the pollution, but a deliberate controlled manipulation of mother earth. I'll explain more when I've worked out how to embed a video into the blog. I feel I do my bit for the environment, and anyway from what I was reading it seems that it isn't economicaly viable in this financial crisis to recycle, cos no one wants to buy our rubbish to recycle, that'll teach us for buying all the shit in the first place. Rubbish when it's on the shelf and rubbish when it's off it, anyway I'm gonna go and walk the dogs, and use some carrier bags to pick up their shit with. Cheers and Stay free!

Oh don’t start me on recycling. This is worth a read…

Our bin-men simply empty both the normal rubbish and the recycled stuff in the same dustcart. I've seen them do it several times but if I accidently leave a used tea-bag in the wrong bin then my life wouldn't be worth living would it?

Plynmouth City Council - You are what you collect - rubbish!

PS Thanks for the Martian Dance stuff Nuzz.....can't leave a comment on that post as there is nowhere to comment yet!
