BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - Cover Me

Here’s something for any old punk rawkers and Bruce Springsteen fans . It’s The Boss covering Da Bruddas Ramone’s I Wanna Be Sedated and The Clash’s London Calling. He’s played them at a couple of US shows on his current world Working On A Dream Tour, which is where these recordings came from. I don’t think The Clash or The Ramones covered any Springsteen numbers, so this aint gonna be a reciprocal post, but just to slightly tie it up here’s Joe Strummer covering Blitzkrieg Bop.

Joe’s fax regarding Springsteen is evidence of how much he bought into the American Dream, which in reality is a nightmare.

Don’t get me wrong, as a lifelong Clash fan I still love the guy (Joe that is, not Bruce), but whilst he was soooo right about a lot of things, he did get some things wrong. But then we all do.

Hi ya Nuzz, Cool post... Have you ever heard Springsteen doing a cover of the Suicide song Dream Baby I think ? they were released on limited versions by the same label that put out the six CD live box set a couple of years ago... Also if I can i'll attach Dylan doing London calling in merry old England from 2005.
Cheers... Here's a link to Bob Dylan's version... http://www.mediafire.com/?ozzyc4mrwzl

Not a fan of "The Boss" to be honest but if he is switched on enough to cover these classics then fair play to him. Cheers Nuzz.

Springsteen originally wrote "Hungry Heart" for the Ramones, but his management smeeled a hit and told him to record it himself.
