THE HAPPY COUPLE (When Thatcher Comes Marching Home.)

Neither of these two make a pretty picture, put 'em together and it makes for a rather ugly scene. This is the end for the Labour Party in Britain, NEW Labour bare as much resemblance to Socialism as Hitler did to Zionism. Drop the Labour bit and be done with it. What was it The Clash sang? "The NEW Party army is marching right over our heads."

I reckon it's gonna have to come from us, and people like Ian Brown, new bands like The Enemy, Dead 60's, Armies Of Anger,

and by people remembering the past and taking insperation from it. That was the hand of evil and it certainly looks like it now.

Here are a few appropriate musical comments to the very touching scene ...Feel free to add more...
It's the soundtrack to our lives.

The Who-Won't get fooled again.
Lindisfarne-Bring down the government.
Bob Dylan-Masters of war.
" " -With God on our side.
Crass-How does it feel to be the...
The Clash-English civil war.
" "-White Riot.
Edgar Broughton Band-Up Yours.
The Dead Kennedys-Kill the poor.
Jimi Hendrix-Star Spangled Banner.
Sex Pistols-God save the Queen.

If 'Oppression' seems to bring out the best in musicians then all I can currently say is We've been sold down the river...
The current music scene is made up of 99.9% shite...
Fuckin' middle class wankers ain't got nothing to protest about ? They're too busy whingeing about how they're not getting a totally free ride, and why ?
The picture says it all.
Apathy now rules while Brittania waives...

Good choice there Chris, something old something new, nothing blue. The oppression we face these days seems to be almost total, controlled through cctv monitoring, endless audits and statistics, it's gone beyond police brutality etc now everyone's oppressed in their work place. Financial insecurity, credit crunches etc. But yeah the response to all this by musicians is pitiful. Check out Armies Of Anger though, now they are a soundtrack.
