BLOGGER CENSORSHIT!

Strange post this one! I’m re-posting something I posted a couple of days ago. THE ENEMY - Music For The People *A REVIEW* Reason being; that I received an email, informing me that it had been removed because:
“Blogger has been notified, according to the terms of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), that certain content in your blog infringes upon the copyrights of others.”
I’m a bit confused as: There was no link to download the album and the track I did post had already been available as a free download from the band anyway. The offending link has been removed, but the words are the same.
I’ve been looking forward to this release for a time. Typical NME response, build ‘em up and knock ‘em down, slightly more favourable reviews else where, but really, who believes or gives a shit what the reviewers say, I don’t expect you to rush out and buy a copy on my account, but I would say it’s worth spending yer dole money or meagre wages on, or better still a few minutes on the old internet. The band have developed into more of a Rock beast since We Live And Die In These Towns; this is not a bad thing! A bit like how The Clash did, from their debut to Give ‘em Enough Rope. Talking of the Clash, there’s a great track Don’t Break The Red Tape that is in part is a complete lift of London’s Calling with a John Lydon sneer to it, not so much a rip off, more a homage to their roots, as are The Who and Led Zep style riffs. Chuck in The Jam and a bit of David Bowie add to it some great social commentary lyrics, and there you have it; the ingredients of a great British Rock’n’Roll album, which is what this is. Music for the people? like that old dog on the insurance advert, (No! not Iggy Pop) says “Oh Yes” Here’s hoping the people give it a listen, and don’t believe everything that they read in the press. If yer looking for a copy here, yer out of luck. I’ll leave it to others to continue to kill the music biz with illegal downloads. My tongue is firmly in cheek there, cos the music biz needs and deserves a good kicking!

Old news!

I heard on the Radio today that there could be a hung parliament after the next General Election; on account of there being no real differences between the Labour and Tory parties anymore, there you go then proves the point that all politicians are the same! A hung parliament? Yeah! From the fucking lampposts!!

LOU REED - Blondes Have More Fun

I’ve been looking for a complete and slightly better copy of this bootleg, but had no joy, so I’ve had to convert my well played tape, which is minus one track (Goodnight Ladies) from the original vinyl release on Dutch label Wizardo Records. This tape must have been copied from vinyl, cos there’s a few rustles and clicks along the way. It’s still a great listen though and captures Lou in fine form. Recorded in Sydney, Australia when he toured there in November 1974, a period in his life when drugs may or may not have been a big part of his life, like all things Lou there’s an awful lot of mythology surrounding him, but on the US dates of the world tour he’d taken to using the microphone lead as a tourniquet and shooting up or simulating shooting up on stage during Heroin, and in Australia at a press conference when asked about drugs, he said he wanted people to take drugs, because they were better than Monopoly. Check out the recording, Drugs or Monopoly you tell me. I’ve also got a Velvet Underground bootleg Evil Mothers that I’m converting, same story; taped from a vinyl copy then issued as a tape, I’ll probably post that some time in the near future, cos we’ve had some Iggy Pop, a ton of Johnny Thunders, but no Lou Reed, what have I been thinking. The unholy trinity of ‘the godfathers of punk’ is now complete. Enjoy!

"We'll be fighting in the streets/With our children at our feet/And the morals that they worship will be gone/And the men who spurred us on/Sit in judgement of all wrong/They decide and the shotgun sings the song!" - The Who

Don't worry, be afraid.....Pigs do fly!

First they tried to scare us with Bird Flu a few years back, now it’s Swine Flu. It just takes peoples minds off other things. Oh no!, we’re all gonna die through their Pandemic Population Control Plan….Nah, that’s just paranoia…..or is it? Only history will be able to tell. In the mean time it’s best not to fear their manufactured fears, but to be aware and remain vigilant at all times of their terrorism!

TECHFUCKINOLOGY!

Postings have been a bit sporadic over the recent weeks, due to some issues with my PC; even the simplest of tasks took forever to do. A re-booting with a size 9 Doctor Martin, didn’t do the trick and probably didn’t help, but it made me feel better. It’s had a bit of an overhaul and seems to be working a lot better now, still needs a few other bits doing to it, but I’m gone make hay while the sun shines, so some sort of abnormal service will be resumed over the next couple of days. Where to begin though; cos it’s been a crazy few weeks in the world of politicks, still can’t say I’m surprised at some of the shit that’s gone down and I expect there’s gonna be a lot more flying around. Cheers for the comments, and I’ll get round to replying to them. Re-posts could be a problem, cos I’ve lost a few things along the way, shit happens. Good to see that someone’s climbed aboard the TWATTER ride. Anymore takers? You can say as much or as little as you want, as often or as irregular as you want about whatever you want, it’s up to you.

TELEVISION PERSONALITIES - 1980 Peel Session

Lo-fi punk, art pop, psychedelic, call it what you want it’s all rock’n’roll to me. The Television Personalities have been tagged with all these labels during their long and productive ‘career’. I say their, but it’s really Dan Tracey who’s the man behind it all, one of Britain’s most underrated and unique song writers ever. From dark days of depression and heroin addiction to a stint in prison Dan’s a survivor who’s lived to tell the tale. This session is from 1980 and came to me via the good folk on the forum that’s attached to A Day In Heaven, the wondrous web site archive of the bands career that can be found here. The Peel Session is just a click away here. Enjoy!

Take a look around......

I really should have taken a marker pen with me rather than a digital camera when I went for a walk with the dog. NAZI SCUM! The offending and offensive (badly spelt) words have been reported to council graffiti busters to remove.

What would Joe Strummer say?

I AM TAKE A HOLIDAY

NEW WORLD DISORDER!

Once the New World Order was a preserve of Neo-Conservatives like Regan, Thatcher and the Bush‘s. Not anymore it would seem, or has it always been just another way for those that really run the world; The money-makers to preserve and expand their wealth, and stay in total control with the aid of their politician puppets and media manipulators, who make sure that they’re alright for themselves in the order of things.
So with this New World Order/Global New Deal of Obama’s and Browns 'saving' economies across the world, where is that gonna leave countries socially? Because the way in which a countries economy is managed will be reflected in the way that it’s society functions. Who knows where we’re gonna be heading and what the journey will be like. They may have saved their world, but what about ours? where will that leave us if we don’t fit into their order of things? Same places as always!
