BBCBNP.
What did we make of the BBC BNP Question Time spectacle? The Licence payers early Christmas Present to the BNP, well Nick Griffin was suitably shown up for the sleazy, sweaty, scumbag he is, and making not a lot of sense, he looked awkward and uncomfortable it was hardly a party political broadcast, more a bullshit one. Jack Straw! What a twat, avoided answering anything about any Labour failings, it was voter dissatisfaction that resulted in Nick Griffin being elected as a MEP and hence his appearance on Question Time. I Thought audience and panel did well in haranguing Mr Griffin, true it might have looked like bullying to the less enlightened viewer but it’s the way the BNP operate, will his appearance have gained him more supporters? True it was a London-centric audience, maybe not a true representation of the people on the streets of places like Hull or Burnley, only time will tell, it could also have lost him support. It’s now up to the Anti-Fascists to keep the pressure on, and the media when they’re not stirring up the immigration issue and the other parties to start listening to the people and responding to their concerns, it may get ugly, but nowhere near as ugly as it would if the BNP ever came to power. Lets hope the present they received was a jumper that your Nan knitted.

Mail boxes, Ballot boxes and the BNP at the BBC.
The Christmas Pantomime has started early this year with The Postal Strike; everyone is playing their parts. Unions and management are nailing the lid on the Royal Mail’s coffin while Peter Mandelson stands by rubbing his hands in glee waiting for it’s delivery before he fucks the corpse. Thousands of miles away in Afghanistan they’re gonna have another election, as the results of the first one were declared to be fraudulent. Obama refuses to commit anymore American troops to the theatre until there is some sort of meaningful democracy in the country, double speak for one that the U.S government is happy with. Gordon Brown needs to start British troop withdrawals now, I mean all the terrorists are now in Pakistan anyway and more terror plots have been foiled by security forces at home than they have by bombing the fuck out of Afghanistan, which has just made the situation worse, like they were told it would. Next up on the stage we have BNP leader Nick Griffin appearing on BBC’s Question Time Anti-Fascist groups are playing their part by saying he shouldn’t be allowed to as it legitimises the party and its politics, well unfortunately we are living in a democracy which has allowed and enabled the seeds of fascism to grow through the inactivity of the major parties in addressing and looking for solutions to the issues that the BNP are using to attract voters to their abhorrent political view. Personally at this point in time I think that Griffin should appear on Question Time, lets get this shit out in the open and not have it festering underground. The best way to show people what the BNP are is to show them up for what they are and the only way to do this is through debate, here’s hoping that the rest of the panellists and the audience ask the right questions. Not allowing Nick Griffin to appear would give them just as much publicity. Democracy costs and sometimes the price can be high, it’s all about making sure that people don’t buy into the more unsavoury side of it. There are others speaking out , senior British Army Officials and The British Legion are both unhappy about The British National Party appropriating images such as The Poppy and The Spitfire for their own ends, as I type this protesters have broken into the BBC to try and stop Griffins appearance. Let the show begin, and be prepared for an epic one, cos the curtain aint gonna go down before the election next year, wonder if there’ll be any postal voting?

EU, GB, BNP

The BNP have been campaigning in the South East over the last few months, they’ve held 20 fund raising events which has netted them £100,000 for their coffers. Praying on the government weakness in handling the present economic crisis and ’immigration issues’ and peoples fears created by the media. It’s the European elections in June and the BNP could gain several seats and therefore funding from the EU, this despite the fact that they don’t Britain to be a part of Europe. Far Right parties in countries like Italy and Austria hold more power than the BNP in the European parliament and As a lot of directives come from Brussels it stands to follow that the more power the Far Right have in Brussels, the more influence they will have in future EU policies, that will effect us all in Britain. In countries such as Poland, East Germany and Russia the far right think nothing of murder as a means to their end / Hostels full of asylum seekers burned to the ground. Violence and Raciscim is the part of their ideology that the BNP don’t like to make public in their glossy leaflets that appeal to the populist opinions and views on Immigration, Crime etc, but it’s there and always will be.
The immigration issue would never have been the political hot potato it is now, if the New Labour government like other EU countries had signed up to a deal that controlled the number of immigrants. That’s why people end up in Britain, they have no other choice, because other countries have controls; it is not our brilliant benefit system that attracts migrants from across the globe, it’s that nowhere else will have them. Why didn’t the British government sign up to the quota? Colonial/empire guilt? No! cheap labour that’s what! All the time migrant workers were being allowed in wages were kept low and the money rolled in. Now the moneys gone and unemployment is rising, migrant workers are either leaving (media doesn’t report much on this) or staying and competing for available work. Resentment is rising, and people are too quick to blame ‘the foreigners’ rather than the government and it’s policies that have allowed the situation to develop and reach a point were racism and prejudice starts to rear it’s ugly head from out of the sewer. Crime wouldn’t be as much of an issue if the government did something about it, but it wont, because despite their ‘tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime’ mantra, they aint done anything tough about anything. Why not? Because if they did they’d be accused of being too right wing. If you can’t walk the talk, keep yer mouth shut. Saying that though, they have made a whole lot of new laws for any future governments to use as they see fit, just because New Labour have used them to their full capacity, it doesn’t mean any future government wont, and that’s the thing I for sure don’t want any party with Racist beliefs getting anywhere near to the state power that New Labour have amassed since 9/11; anti-terror laws etc that can have people arrested if their views are against the states way of thinking. It’s bad enough that they’re at the disposal of any party, but the BNP, it doesn’t bare thinking about. To those that say it can’t happen here, well it could if we don’t remain vigilant.

"Workers of the world......"

These recent ‘wildcat strikes’ are all a bit worrying, but nothing that wasn’t expected. The workers are throwing Gordon Browns words right back at him. Too right brother! But when those words are “British jobs for British workers” I start to feel a bit uncomfortable with it all, because it all starts sounding a bit xenophobic for my liking, and also for Peter Mandelsons as well, saying the strikes were the “politics of xenophobia” Woa! Wait a fucking minute, it was his wheeling and dealings that put the workers in this position in the first place. Another concern I have is since when have the Unions supported far right policies? I always thought their fight was also against fascism, but yet a unite flag is flying amongst the union jacks, doesn’t mean their xenophobic though, or does it? Because a Union representative I heard being interviewed yesterday avoided the questions about this, and said they were just supporting “their members jobs” I also heard one of their members referring to the Italian workers as “Ities” Yes the media will no doubt distort and manipulate it for what ever ends, but it is happening. BNP leader Nick Griffin must be rubbing his hands in glee, especially when Labour MP and champion of the poor Frank Field expressed his concern a week ago that in a recent report there were 10 schools in Britain were pupils didn’t have English as their first language, and he felt this was “Bad, and fragmented society” mind you I don’t believe a word any of ‘em say, because the same Frank Field expressed concerns this week that the strikes were playing into the hands of the BNP and the far right” (doesn’t know what side he’s on, mind you they’re all the fucking same!) which they will; because the workers are in a no win situation thanks to New Labour and The New Europe. Well and truly shafted. Up the workers indeed. One last thing, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; Hitler’s government in Germany started life as a NAtional SocIalist party!!!!

"FREE SPEACH FOR THE DUMB"

In the wake of the leaked list of BNP members, and the possibility that some on the list may lose their jobs, we can expect an outcry of “Freedom of speech” from a party that if they gained power would deny others this right, yes we could say that this is already happening under New Labour with the ever eroding of civil liberties, but by denying the BNP certain freedoms, we would be safeguarding our future liberties, because I for one would not want the weapons the state has at it’s disposal now e.g. CCTV surveillance and Anti-Terror Laws to fall into the hands of a far right organisation , which they would if the BNP ever came to power in Britain, and don’t think they wouldn’t use them to their full potential, because they would after all this is a party that despite trying to clean up its image remains tainted by violence. The party leader Nick Griffin has appeared in court, In the not so distant past on at least two occasions for inciting racial hatred, yes some people named on the list may not take their believes to the extremes, but they’ve still signed up to a party that believes Hitler was a good man for killing 6 million+ human beings. No doubt, they’ll try and use the race Relations Act, something they don’t believe in to say they are being discriminated against and despite wanting Britain to withdraw from the European Union they’ll go running to Brussels screaming “Human rights” but don’t talk to me about human rights, when it’s human wrongs we need to protect and discriminate against!

WHO ARE THE RACISTS?

So members of the BNP; a political party that relies on fear to get its message across are scared because their names and addresses have been leaked on the internet. What a fucking shame, welcome to your world, and lets hope a few of em get the sack from their jobs, because it’s not a good time to be unemployed, and they wont be able to blame the immigrants for taking their jobs. No doubt the membership list was leaked for a reason, and as I’m typing this I hear on the news that the their leader Nick Griffin is saying that any teachers that are sacked for being members of the BNP will be victims of fascism???!!!

Coming a couple of days after my post on the Racist attacks on Italian gypsies is the news that in Austria between them two! far right parties have polled more votes than the mainstream parties in their elections. With their Mussolini and Hitler connections, there is more of a history of Fascism in both countries, but lest we forget Oswald Mosley and his black shirts, and the Nazi skinheads of the 70’s and 80’s, especially in the light of a recent survey of young British people, were two thirds thought immigration was ‘diluting’ national identity and a quarter said it was taking away jobs. In the wake of the Austrian election results, it is not known what impact the votes of 16 and 17 year olds has had on the result; not only was it was the first time they had been able to vote in their election, but Austria were the first European country to give the vote to young people in a National Election, but why should we worry cos it wont happen here, NO! IT CAN’T HAPPEN HERE! and it’s down to us to make sure it doesn’t.

Here’s a couple of books I read when I was younger. The Silver Sword, although fiction, is based on fact and it tells the story of three children fleeing Poland from the Nazis. The Wave is based on a true incident that happened in America, were a classroom experiment to show children how the powerful forces of group pressure can lead to movements such as Fascism, goes wrong. The relevance of this is ? that during times of economic crisis Fascism/Nazism starts to rear its ugly head as scapegoats are sought to blame the problems on, and to those that think it can’t happen again, well you only need to take a look at the recent attacks on the Italian gypsy community, and think again, because it is happening. Their camps are being burned down and dead bodies were dumped on Italian beaches during the summer, covered with towels while tourists sunbathed oblivious to what was going on in front of their eyes.

How the Micro can effect your view of the Macro
I already used the photo to yer left for a post on 6th March. It was taken in the area where I live. Hadn’t seen any NF graffiti for years, it was quite popular in the late 70’s early 80’s (during the time of political and economic crisis in Britain) and appeared on walls all over the place. When I first saw this recent piece, I wasn’t too surprised or shocked, after all in last years local council elections there was a BNP candidate standing for election in my ward. (click on the labels tag at the bottom of this post to read about that) My initial reaction to the graffiti was to ring up the council and get it’s crack team of ’Graffiti Busters’ to come and remove it. Then I thought I wonder what would happen if I did nothing about it? So for a bit of an ‘experiment’ that’s exactly what I did; nothing. I did think of getting a spray can and writing SCUM next to it, but the law of sod made me think I’d probably get caught, so I bottled it. The purpose of ‘the experiment’ was to see how long the graffiti would remain on the wall. It has now been two weeks since it first appeared, which lead me to the following conclusions:
a) No one else gives a shit or is aware of what NF stands for.
b) My neighbourhood is full of Racist sympathisers
c) The council are not doing their job properly.
Yesterday was 20th March, two weeks since I’d first photographed the graffiti. I ended my experiment as I was getting pissed off seeing it on the wall every time I went out for a walk with my dog. I rang the Councils Environmental Services and reported it. While I was on the phone I asked them If it had been reported before, they said that it had. I asked when and was told 14th March. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions. I will be going along to the next Local residents Association meeting to raise my concerns, could be interesting, cos I've been to a couple before and they seem to be mainly made up of people who like and want to be given power, but don't want to listen to anything that doesn't fit into their own narrow view point, they'd be a right bunch of little Hitlers if given the chance.

ELECTION RESULT

No result for the BNP, but I do have 211 people in my council ward that voted for their policies, which is 6 more than voted for the LIB DEMS, mind you I dunno what their policies were as I never received a leaflet of theirs. Didn't get a CONSERVATIVE one come through the door either and they've got 378 supporters. LABOUR the only other party who did go out canvasing kept the seat with 848 votes. With all the results from the wards this leaves the local council in Labour control with just a couple of Conservatives and Liberals to keep them in check, but no BNP to stir things up. Result.

BloodyNastyPeople

Have just come back from exercising my democratic right to vote. It's a sham(e) that in a democracy parties are allowed to stand on a platform of hatred toward other people with policies that would take away the freedom of certain groups in society. I just hope that across Britain today people have the sense to put their cross in a box that will send the BNP scum back to the rocks from which they crawled under. I'm not so sure though being as those other eroders of civil liberties; New Labour have left people feeling cheated and cross.

FIGHT THE FASCISTS

Just found out that in the Local Council Elections on May 3rd the BNP have a candidate standing in my area. He will be one of many more standing across the country in these elections, and it's down to us, the people to make sure they gain no footholds to power. So if you've got a candidate standing in your area get up and vote. Local elections are notorious for poor turnouts, but at this one it is most important to make the effort and place a X against any party so long as it aint the BNP. Spread the word, tell your neighbours, send the message; that we don't want no Nazis here. Then get in touch with the party you did vote for and ask them what are they gonna do about the shit that we are living in. It's only because of the main parties failings and inadequacies that the BNP have a platform to stand on.
