THE BERMONDSEY JOYRIDERS - Noise and Revolution (A Review)

The only thing worth celebrating this jubilee weekend is the release of The Bermondsey Joyriders long awaited second album Noise and Revolution. Has it been worth the wait? Too fucking right it has. This is classic rock’n’roll; all punk rock blues and political statements. “Stand strong and keep asking questions” just what’s needed in times of socially engineered flag waving patriotic pride. Forget the Joyriders; Gary Lammin, Martin Stacey and Chris Musto’s pedigree; Cock Sparrer, Chelsea and Johnny Thunders. (even though I think Rat Scabies plays drums on the album) This is not just about the past, this is about the past becoming the present as it heads towards the future. Eleven tracks linked together by former MC5 manager John Sinclair’s inter song spoken word commentary. This is the sound of tru punk,  a great British album that says something.... Rock’n’Roll can change the world!

THE BERMONDSEY JOYRIDERS with JOHN SINCLAIR - Live @ 100 Club, London. (May 2011)

This post  is a bit overdue, I’ve been having problems uploading to my Media Fire account, which is interesting, as I’ve heard of several blogs which have had their accounts shut down, this hasn’t happened here yet….but….perhaps it’s only a matter of time in the post Megaupload ‘illegal download’ purge by the US Film Industry before it becomes harder for bloggers to share music. I’ve given up on Media Fire and have started using 4Shared again, any problems with accessing files, leave a comment.  Anyway today’s music comes from The Bermondsey Joyriders, and their incendiary brand of South London rock’n’roll blues, here they are joined for some spoken word narration by 60’s counter culture legend John Sinclair; the man who injected the politics into the MC5.  Until recently it looked like part of point 10 of John Sinclair’s White Panther Party program; Free Music, Free Culture and Free Media had thanks to the Free Technology of the internet had been achieved, but as mentioned earlier it looks like this freedom is under attack, but hey ho lets go, and keep on keeping on with songs in our hearts to shake the city walls.  Noise and Revolution, The Bermondsey Joyriders second album, which also features John Sinclair,is due out sometime this year could be just one of those records judging by these five tracks recorded at the 100 Club in May last year, so if you want any loud Rock’n’Roll, you know what to do!

THE BERMONDSEY JOYRIDERS - Society Is Rapidly Changing.

Society is Rapidly Changing is the opening track from the much anticipated second album from Punk blooze mystros The Bermondsey Joyriders. The album’s due out early next year and goes by the name of Noise and Revolution, and after hearing Society…I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be a blast of ballsy punk rawk blues that says something! Hear what you think here!!

THE BERMONDSEY JOYRIDERS - 3 Track Promo

Imagine Cock Sparrer meeting Chelsea and The Heavy Metal Kids, and that’s what you’ve got with The Bermondsey Joyriders, which is no surprise really when you consider the band features original Cock Sparrer guitarist and songwriter Gary Lammin, on Vocals. Original Chelsea Guitarist Martin Stacey on the Bass and Keith Boyce from The Heavy Metal Kids on Drums. This is the sound from the streets, the toons of the terraces. No major political agenda here, just foot to the floor fun and spills rawk and roll of the highest calibre. These 3 tracks were selected by the shuffle button on my CD player and serve as a sampler of The Bermondsey Joyriders 10 track debut CD/download, which is available via the band here. Highly Recommended!
