A TIME FOR WASTERS.

An evening with Pete Doherty, ermm.....what to expect ? A chair on the stage with Pete gouging out in it, Pete having sex with Kate Moss in a bed on the stage or just watching a TV on stage, picking his toe nails and smoking them. I'd have settled for any of 'em, just to see the looks on the faces of his 'adoring young fans.' Alas, no, what we got instead was a guy on stage painting a picture of the evening and acoustic Pete and some friends; Alan Wass and Bert Jansch. Pete played some numbers with 'em both and did some by himself. All good stuff, but what I didn't expect and judging by the looks on their faces and the noise they made neither did the 'adoring young fans' was for Pete to bring on Carl Barat for a 13 song reunion. From What a Waster to Time For Heroes, Pete and Carl played a blinder and showed they were the best British songwriting partnership since Joe Strummer and Mick Jones. To their 'adoring young fans' it was like their Clash had reformed. To a older music lover it was a great night out watching the talent that is Pete Doherty, but it was a special night with an undescribable atmosphere. Here's 5 tracks from 'the reunion' procured from Albion Arks Forum: http://www.sendspace.com/file/bxh368
and the most recent Pete recordings: Stookie and Jim-The Bumfest Demos : http://www.sendspace.com/file/szxgz0

Ye, I always feel like I'm missing something with him aswell. The Libertines were good but Babyshambles I don't get. Bit too much of a media show at times with him and the Croydon gal. Am I just being a boring old fart?

Aaah, Pete Doherty, symbolises every thing that's good and bad about Britain in 07, you're only a boring old fart if you listen to James Blunt Highlander, (here's hoping you don't and I've not offended you like James Blunt offends me.) Every generation needs a Sid Vicious.
