4 X Fucking 4's, Why ?

You can't go freely rambling through the British countryside, never mind driving over it. So how come there are so many of these vehicles on the roads ? Statistics show that if you are driving a saloon car and are involved in a crash with a 4X4, there is a good chance you will be injured or die. This rather obvious statistic explains the influx of these gas guzzling, environment polluting vehicles of war on our shores. Cos that's when it all started; the first Gulf War. As Americans watched the Hummers cruising across the sands of Kuwait, they thought they looked cool and offered protection. Both psychological and physical, so they started to buy them. The motor manufacturers soon picked up on this trend and started to manufacture similarly designed vehicles for the mass consumer market, which duly bought into them, because it made them feel safe and secure from unseen terror and other road users. Plus they are big enough to fill up with the rest of the shit that they buy. It wasn't long before the trend became global and the citizens of the UK were driving round like the Taliban on the school run.

I do hate those SUV's. It's just to show off their wealth. On the other hand, I drive a 16-years old van which isn't that environmental friendly. In Belgium there are voices to tax people driving cars wthat pollute and live in non-isolated houses. Off course that's the people driving old second-hand cars and live in old houses 'cos they can't permit anything else!
It's always a good laugh seeing a rich bitch trying to park her 4X4 in between two cars!

f*cking spot on nuzz! it is, as curious guy says, purely a status thing - add personalised number plates, bmw s, mercede s, and all the rest of the extraneous shit that people think makes em look good. Money is not our god.

Status is the new class system, it's what drives consumer culture, and it will allways be those who don't buy into it who suffer at the hands of the stealth tax man. Cheers for yer comments guys.
