Cold war fears of Nuclear Armageddon, are sold back to those that lived through it as a tourist attraction. The fears were real, but now it's just a day trip for the family, like a visit to Auschwitz. Lest we forget.
Our history has now become our future; an exercise in consumption that bares no relation to the reality of mass murder or mass paranoia.
For sale souvenirs of suffering.

I remember doing a 'Nuclear Power - No Thanks' calendar showing the old mushroom going up with blackened bodies around it - AT PRIMARY SCHOOL FFS. You're damn right those fears were real.....'When The Wind Blows' had me in tears. Even now I would probably wanna be closer to the epicentre than survive and live with the aftermath.
Spent ages looking for my old Protect and Survive booklet from late 70's/early 80's to use in the post, but cant find it nowhere. Yeah WTWB, what a book. Now it's all about Osama, times change, but the fears remain and help shape our society.
