YOU'RE NOT THE LAW.

If you like The Clash, The Ruts and Scum Of Toytown then you really need to get yer ears round this lot. A Skatastic bunch of scousers; THE DEAD 60'S. During NME's much hyped 'summer of ska' a couple of years ago the British music lovers took Hard-Fi to their hearts and kicked the Dead 60's into touch, the fools. Pop friendly sells, punk anger doesn't. Fuck 'em their loss, they went down a storm on The Vans Warped tour in the U.S.A. This live recording is from 2005, a French Session @ Maison De, (think it's a TV or Radio broadcast) it features the singles and their debut album. What ya waiting for ? It's just a click away:http://www.sendspace.com/file/kudr1g

'Riot Radio' alone should have propelled The Dead 60s into the UK's music consciousness but 'Last Resort' was the first one I heard and that had me hooked. Their MySpace page has them recording the 2nd album thankfully - quality post nuzz.

This recording comes from a french radio broadcast called "the black sessions", which is a french version of the peel sessions. "Black" because the speaker's name is Bernard Lenoir (Lenoir = TheBlack :-) ).

Cheers for that info Geranium, have a couple of other 'black sessions' often wondered what it was all about. Glad you liked that Highlander, let's hope their second album's as good as the first and they get a bit of recognition in the UK. May post a Hard-Fi live one sometime, cos I don't think they're that bad, just a bit too mainstream and poppy, heard a lot worse.
